Worship Ministry
Sunday Morning Worship
Sunday morning is the time the whole KUC community gathers for a corporate worship. Coming from many different nations, cultures and denominational backgrounds, KUC seeks to be a House of Prayer, a place where the nations can gather for worship. Our services are a mix of traditional and contemporary music. We have a magnificent organ which we use every week for uplifting prelude and postludes, as well as for our traditional hymns, but we also have a dynamic worship team that leads us in praise and worship, with a band of drummers, guitarists and keyboards.
What Happens during the Service?
Every Sunday will be a little different! While some parts of the service are maintained every week (including singing, prayers, readings and offering), we also have children's worship moments, testimonies, video presentation clips, youth items, along with a number of choirs (our KUC choir, Japanese Community Choir, and Cheerful Notes - our wonderful childrens choir)! We also incorporate moments of mission, special moments of prayer, and of course the sacraments of communion and baptism. Communion is held on the first Sunday of the month, and is open to all followers of Jesus.
What about the Sermon?
Every Sunday, one of our Pastors (and sometimes, other speakers from KUC) provides positive, challenging and relevant Bible teaching. Click here to go to the sermon page.
Japanese Translation
While our service is always conducted in English, we do offer simultaneous Japanese translation in our morning services via headsets. We also often sing some of our songs in Japanese as well as in English.

What about the Children?
We have an excellent nursery and children's worship program during the worship service. Click here for details
Can I serve on the team?
Our worship ministry team is primarily to facilitate the Sunday morning worship services. We do this by seeking to provide worship that is of high quality, creative, imaginative, using the giftedness of the congregation, and above all that is glorifying to God. We have many different people on the team. From worship leaders, singers, musicians, sound and projection people, as well as those who do occasional "items". If you would like to be part of the team, contact our Worship Ministry Leader Akiko Ando. She would be delighted to talk with you and find out where you can fit.
